Elysa has more than 30 years of marketing, management and financial budgeting experience. For more than 20 years she focused on retailing as a buyer in the private and public sectors. She worked for department and specialty stores in New York before moving on to the Smithsonian Museum Stores. At the Smithsonian, she was responsible for budgeting, financial analysis and profitability for souvenirs, gifts and jewelry sold in the stores.

Elysa has worked with aging family members on a wide variety of tasks such as reviewing mail, helping with on-line access to financial accounts, working to make sure health care savings accounts are fully utilized, reviewing insurance claims, researching Medicaid, and looking into veteran’s benefits. It was this work, and the relief she saw it bring to those she assisted, that brought her to Everyday Money Management.

Elysa is a graduate of Northwestern University, Evanston, Illinois where she majored in economics and history and has an MBA from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. A native of the Chicago area, she now lives in Chevy Chase, Maryland with her husband John. They have one daughter.
